Caffeine

Let me start off by saying that i was addicted to caffeine for 10 years. Yes im only 18. It's pretty much only drug that is addictive and isn't controlled by any kind of law. I had sleeping problems as kid and now i know why. Im not saying caffeine screw up my life but it had some effect. I think the new energy drinks are good thing. Why? Because they raise awareness off people that caffeine isn't something that kids should drink. Im not saying caffeine is bad thing or that it should be banned, but giving it age limit is something that should be done. Small dose of caffeine raises awareness and makes you more awake, but big doses are addictive and cause withdrawal. In other words caffeine should be k18 like rest of the legal drugs.

I have a bit of an odd relationship with caffeine. I don't drink tea or coffee (purely because I don't like the taste), but I do love the taste of energy drinks. This is dangerous because I often find myself just drinking them because I like the flavour and not even thinking about the caffeine content. It doesn't do too much for me, but sometimes I end up going on binges and drinking several cans a day. I know it's not good for me so I try and keep them for a treat or a necessary caffeine boost now.

I've been cutting bad on caffeine for the last year, I used to drink somewhere in the region of 5 expressos per day, now I'm down to just 2. At first I had some major headaches but nowadays it's all good and I feel much more relaxed.

i can't ever drink coffee, and i manage weeks with 4 hours of sleep a night. i think nobody needs coffee, it's just... you get addicted really fast.

You make a very good point. Caffeine doesn't effect me anymore as much as it did when I was a kid.

I've kicked all caffeine from soda, ie, no longer drinking any soda. Only thing left now to kick is red bull.
